E. Ross MacCulloch, Marine Artist

May 1950 – August 1993

Born in Halifax in 1950, he considered himself fortunate that his parents provided and encouraged lessons in the arts and music. From a very early age, Ross showed a strong talent for painting and art.

For Ross MacCulloch, Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada) was home. He was best Known as a marine artist and for his paintings of the Halifax landscape and buildings.

Ross studied  with John Cook and Alan Wylie. When he finished highschool, he then went to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. He then began a long friendship with Anthony Law and Jane Shaw, with whom he studied rt and enjoyed many painting expeditions.

Ross MacCulloch painted professionally for 25 years before his death at age 43 in 1993
